ENGLAND STUDENTS WOMENS PROGRAMME 2026
Following the successful relaunch of the England Students Women’s programme and its first representative fixture in 20 years, the Students’ Rugby Football Union (SRFU) is continuing its commitment to recognising and showcasing elite female rugby talent within higher education.
The programme brings together standout student‑athletes from across the university game, providing a national representative opportunity and exposure to a high‑performance environment. It builds on the programme’s original history, which ran from the mid‑1990s to 2005 and produced players who progressed to international and professional rugby, while reflecting the continued growth of women’s rugby across the higher education sector.
The England Students Women’s squad will take part in a short training camp and international fixture against the UK Armed Forces Women’s Rugby team this summer. This is provisionally scheduled for either:
-
Week commencing 6 July, concluding on 10 or 11 July, or
-
Week commencing 10 August, concluding on 14 or 15 August
We hope to be able to confirm the final dates as soon as possible and will communicate this to nominated players and institutions once confirmed.
