The Touch Union
The Touch Union is England Rugby's new touch format of the game. It's fun, fast-flowing and social, while still building on core rugby union skills - perfect for all at your university. The playing rules can be adapted to suit all participants’ needs and abilities, and sessions are gender inclusive.
To help you grow rugby at your university, using The Touch Union, we'd like to offer you a The Touch Union starter kit and a £100 England Rugby Store gift voucher, which could be used to incentivise players at your university (T&C’s apply). All you need to do to claim this is register your session, using the link below.
Refereeing opportunities
The RFU in partnership with the SRFU will be launching a university referee pilot at selected institutions, the pilot will aim to make the course more accessible for students whilst supporting a need of more referees in the community game. The SRFU will fund the course fee as long as the student commits to officiating two community rugby matches. More information will be released on our social media channels.
Connect with a Club this Christmas
Are your students connecting with a club when they go home for Christmas? Playing club rugby is an excellent way to keep fit over the break, before the university rugby season resumes, and provides opportunities for students to re-join their home rugby community before they graduate. You can find your nearest rugby club here.
SRFU grants
The second application window of the grant offer for the PLAY strand opens on 29 November and closes at midnight on 19 December. PLAY focuses on the recreational offer across universities, to support university clubs engage more players.
